A CENTURY OF LIFE. A LEGACY OF HONOUR.

At 104 , Pa Prince Isaac Firimokumo Penawou witnessed generations come and go and left behind a legacy that will continue to live in the hearts of his family, friends and community.

Interestingly, the ceremony itself reflected the rich cultural heritage of the Niger Delta. What began as a solemn farewell transformed into a colourful celebration of life, featuring spectacular cultural displays, traditional performances, music, dancing and entertainment.

Adding further excitement to the celebration was a comedy performance by popular Nigerian comedian Gordons, alongside with MC Richmond Osuji and other entertainers who helped create an atmosphere of joy, remembrance and celebration.

The event was indeed a carnival of culture, unity and remembrance, celebrating not only the passing of an iconic 104-year-old patriarch but also the values, memories and relationships he left behind.

A life of 104 years may come to an end, but a meaningful legacy never dies.

May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may the legacy he leaves behind continue to inspire generations. Photography: Amicable Aluu

My Dear Friends and Brothers,

I am deeply humbled and overwhelmed by the extraordinary outpouring of love, friendship and support extended to me and my family throughout the funeral ceremonies of my beloved father, Pa Isaac Firimokumo Penawou.

Words can hardly convey the depth of my gratitude to every member of this platform. Your collective support, generous contributions, prayers, calls, messages and countless expressions of solidarity gave my family tremendous strength and comfort as we prepared to give our father a befitting farewell.

To those who took the time to travel to my country home in Akugbene Mein Kingdom, Delta State, to physically stand with us and participate in the funeral ceremonies, I am especially grateful. Your presence added immeasurably to the occasion and meant so much to me and the entire Penawou family. We do not take the sacrifices of your time, travel and personal commitments for granted.

To those who, for one reason or another, were unable to be physically present but supported us with your prayers, goodwill and resources, please know that your love was equally felt and deeply appreciated. Distance did not diminish the significance of your support.

I must also express my profound appreciation to the Admins of this platform for initiating and coordinating this remarkable gesture of friendship and brotherhood. What you all did for me went far beyond financial support; it demonstrated the true meaning of friendship and reminded me how blessed I am to belong to such an extraordinary circle of friends and brothers.

On behalf of myself and the entire Penawou family, I say a heartfelt THANK YOU to each and every one of you.

May the Almighty God, who sees every act of kindness, reward you abundantly, replenish all that you expended on our behalf, and grant each of you the grace and privilege of being similarly surrounded by love, friendship and support whenever the occasion arises.

My family and I remain eternally grateful.

God bless you all. 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Warm regards always

Chief Joseph Tubodei Penawou
