Our journey began on 24th October 1964, when Zambia attained independence under the leadership of our founding President, Dr. Kenneth David Kaunda, and other gallant freedom fighters.
Their sacrifices established the foundation of a nation that continues to uphold peace, democracy and national unity.
Our growth reflects the progress achieved over six decades in education, infrastructure, agriculture, mining and economic development.
Under the leadership of His Excellency President Hakainde Hichilema, Zambia continues to pursue economic transformation, investment promotion, debt sustainability and inclusive national development. Our future depends on how effectively we transform these opportunities into lasting prosperity for generations to come.

The colourful celebration featured the presence of prominent personalities, including Ambassador MAMMAN MIKE OSUMAN, LLM, SAN, FCIArb, OFR, Chairman of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), and ENE EDWINS, ESQ., retired INEC Director of Legal Services and Administrative Secretary, alongside other distinguished guests and members of the Zambian community in the diaspora.

The event was characterised by an atmosphere of joy, cultural pride, and togetherness. Professional dancers thrilled the audience with captivating traditional dance performances, showcasing the richness and diversity of African culture. The celebration also featured the presentation of numerous gifts, adding excitement and warmth to the occasion.

In his concluding remarks, appreciation was extended to the Government and people of Nigeria for their hospitality, support, and cordial relationship with Zambia
Happy Independence Day Zambia at 62.
